Literacy Tasks
Defined Learning’s literacy tasks for grades 7-12 align to the Common Core English Language Arts Standards and present students with a “real-world” situation that encourages their writing through either informational or argumentative products. Each task includes online informational and argumentative resources that students can review prior to engaging in the writing process.
Literacy Task

All language tasks are connected to one of two rubrics that have been developed based upon the Common Core standards for writing. The rubrics are Argumentative or Informational based upon the task being completed.

Through the Defined Learning Task Editor a teacher can fully edit the literacy task and constructed response. Associated real-world videos and news articles can also be added or removed at the teacher’s discretion. In addition, editing enables teachers to differentiate instruction to different ability levels.
